Breed Benchmark
From autumn 2006 all Scottish Blackface sheep recorded in the UK have been analysed across breed and so are able to be compared directly. This is new and we are one of only a very few breeds able to offer an across breed comparison.
A summary of the 2011“benchmark” is published here.
This shows the EBVs for all 7 traits and the overall Index for the top 10% and top 25% of animals born. EBVs published on this site can be compared to these figures and, from now, all Scottish Blackface sheep recorded in the UK will be directly comparable to the benchmark figures.
